Tree Disease Management

Many of the trees we covet most in the Mid-Atlantic region have very species specific diseases that plague them. Tree disease management is an important part of caring for your property because when healthy trees are plagued by these diseases, they can become unattractive and more importantly, unsafe.

Through the proper identification and management, a Titan Tree Care industry Certified Arborist can administer the correct treatment to manage the disease effectively and save the tree.

Tree Diseases common to Maryland, Virginia, & Washington D.C.

Anthracnose
Anthracnose is a fungal disease that affects many plants, including vegetables, fruits, and trees. You can identify it by the dark, sunken lesions on leaves, stems, flowers, and fruits that it causes. It can also attack developing shoots and expanding leaves and it can spread quickly in the Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. suburbs due to the amount of rain and humidity we experience.
Root Disease
Root Disease is a fungal infection that effects the below-ground roots of many types of trees from Gaithersburg Maryland to Manassas Virginia and all around the D.C. area. It’s important to work with a licensed and certified arborist to identify and treat Root Disease since it can spread to other trees and plants on your property. Root Disease can be identified by yellowing of the leaves on your trees, reduced needle length, progressive thinning of foliage, fading crown, reduced tree growth, and even tree death. Our arborists are experts in identifying and treating Root Disease, so reach out for a free consultation today.
Fire Blight
Fire Blight is a tree disease caused by a bacteria that gives branches, foliage, and fruit a scorched appearance. Look for leaves that turn black or quickly wither as this can be a sign of Fire Blight. This common tree disease can be difficult to control in the wet, humid conditions found in the Washington D.C. area. Our certified arborists are expert tree care professionals that can quickly identify any of these conditions and work with you to effectively manage them.
